UPGro Knowledge Broker

The ESRC with Natural Environmental Research Council (NERC - Lead Council) and Department for International Development (DFID) wish to appoint a Knowledge Broker to maximise the potential impact of the research finding from the Unlocking the Potential of Groundwater research programme (UPGro).

The UPGro research programme aims to generate research that will contribute to more sustainably managed groundwater resources and increased water security in sub-Saharan Africa. Specifically it will deliver the knowledge and information required to better access and manage Africa's groundwater resources in ways that enhance water security and economic development for poor people in sub-Saharan Africa.

The UPGro Knowledge Broker will have a clear mandate to ensure the programme maximises its impact through connecting and communicating with users, undertaking meta-analysis and other studies (as appropriate), together with coordination across projects to look for coherence and shared story lines. Successful candidate(s) will be expected to have a good understanding of Africa and will be responsible for developing and communicating a 'bigger picture' view of the research being undertaken on groundwater in Africa. The post could be filled either through a single appointment or, due to the breadth and depth of expertise required for the post, through a team of individuals.

Individuals/organisations interested in this position should visit Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) where the Request For Quotes (RFQ) has been published. To respond to this notice please obtain all documentation from professionalservices@ssc.rcuk.ac.uk.

The closing date is 6 September 2013
